Fiber Internet
Although we have a free wifi network available throughout the property, the wifi signal isn’t as reliable when it has to go through the walls of a camper, so we recommend using a wired connection or setting up your own wifi network inside for situations when you need faster speeds or a stronger connection. In order to create a wired connection to the internet at your site, you’ll need an ethernet cable. These are available at any electronics store, and can also be purchased in our office for $10. This cable plugs directly from the jack labeled “internet” on your site’s pedestal to the device you’re trying to connect. Some computers have dedicated ethernet ports that will accept this wired connection, whereas others may require an adapter. Another option is to connect your own personal wireless router. This will enable you to create your own wifi network inside your camper that can be used to connect all your wifi devices. Important: When connecting the ethernet cable to your router be sure to connect to the “Internet” port (also called the WAN port) on your router, and not to one of the ethernet ports (also known as LAN ports) or it may cause issues. We sell routers in the office for $35, or you can get one at any electronics store
Cable TV
To connect to the cable you’ll need a coax cable (also called a RG-6 cable). The coax cable is screwed into the port on your site’s pedestal labeled “TV,” and connects on the other end to your TV. Note that if your TV is not HD QAM compatible, you will need a converter box to access the free cable. Once connected, simply run a channel scan on your TV and the free channels should show up. If no channels show up then the TV may not be HD compatible, and you’ll likely need to use a converter box. We sell cox cables in the office for $15, or you can purchase them at any electronics store.
